If your balcony always shows exactly the same plants in exactly the same positions, your eyes eventually stop noticing them. It becomes background.
Many plants have stronger “show” phases—flowering period, new leaf growth, or a particular season when they look lush. When those are at their peak, you can bring them forward into more prominent positions: near chairs, at eye level, or closer to the railing. When they’re resting or between blooms, they can move slightly back while another plant takes the star position.
This gentle rotation keeps your balcony feeling dynamic across the year. You don’t need to constantly buy new plants to feel change; you only play with placement and timing.
It’s the same idea as rotating decor in the house, but with living things that change naturally anyway.
