What benefit is there in checking if roof railings feel firm and stable when lightly pushed

Rooftop railings protect you from falls. If they wobble when you give them a gentle push, or if rust has eaten through sections, that’s a clear safety risk.

You don’t need to hang on them with full weight, just hold and test: does it feel solid and anchored, or shaky and loose? In families with kids or elders, this is even more important. One careless lean near a weak section can end very badly.

Pointing out these issues to building management early gives them a chance to fix them before something serious happens.
