Most appliances have a “normal” sound that you stop noticing after a while. When that sound changes—louder hum, strange buzzing, rattling, clicking—it’s often the machine telling you something’s off. A fan might be loose, a motor struggling, a bearing wearing out.
If you pay attention and jot a quick note (“Fridge making louder hum since last week”), you can mention it early to a technician or plan servicing before the appliance actually stops. Early repair is often cheaper and less disruptive than total breakdown plus urgent replacement.
Ignoring new noises is a bit like ignoring pains in your own body. Sometimes they go away, but often they’re early warnings you’ll wish you’d listened to.
