Rooftop storage tanks feed your taps and showers. If the lids are loose, broken, or missing, all sorts of things can fall in—dust, leaves, insects, even small animals. That doesn’t sound great for water quality.
Properly covered tanks with secure lids keep most debris out. They also reduce the risk of algae growth from sunlight and discourage birds from drinking or nesting right on the openings.
A quick look at the tanks tells you whether the building treats its water storage with basic respect or just “manages somehow.”
